I Can't Believe It!!

I can't believe my winter break is almost over!! I can't believe I just posted another unit on TpT!! It is a unit using abbreviations. It is called "Bakery Abbreviations" and guess what is on the front!! You guessed it! It is a PIG!! My colleagues all know that I am the pig lady at school, so I had to make a unit with pigs.
Here is a pic!!

Come over to my TpT store and check it out!! It has an abbreviation matching game with full color cards and a recording sheet for students to write the words and abbreviations they match up. Gives students lots of practice recognizing and writing abbreviations.

Well, off to do homework!!

New TpT unit--Word Sorts

Wow! I have been enjoying my winter break! But alas, it is almost over. I will be renewed and refreshed when I go back to school on Monday. I have been working all week on this new TpT unit. You have to check it out!! It is lots of different word sorts. There is one for Dolch Words, several blends, r-controlled vowels, digraphs, long and short vowels, and vowel combinations. I hope you like it as much as I have enjoyed making it!! I always have some type of word sort at my Word Work Literacy Station. My kiddos love it! Here is a pic!!

Here a Chick, There a Chick!! TpT unit

Happy Monday!! I am off this week for Winter break, so I have finally finished up my new Easter unit for sale on TpT.  I can't believe I have finally finished it. Between teaching, getting my ESOL certification, and all the other things life throws in my direction, I didn't think I was ever going to finish it.  Of course I didn't start working on it again until late this afternoon. I have Netflix and I have been catching up on all the Grey's Anatomy shows that I have missed. I admit it, I am addicted!!  Love McDreamy and McSteamy!!  I don't think Patrick Dempsey ever has a bad hair day!!
A little info about my unit. It contains a non-fiction and a fiction lesson plan. The non-fiction lesson plan is the Life Cycle of a Chick and the fiction lesson plan goes with the book, The Easter Bunny is Missing. There is a Dolch Word game, contractions, compound words, graphic organizers, an art activity and a writing activity.
Go to my TpT store and check it out.  Leave me some feedback if you decide to buy!!

Blog Award!

Wow! I have received another blog award! I have received the Liebster Award for Kelly at All That Glitters in First Grade! Thanks Kelly! Now I have to give it to 5 blogs that have less than 200 followers.
Here they are:

At my school I am sometimes know as the Pig Teacher,(no, it is not what you are thinking, they are not calling my kiddos pigs) because I love pigs and over the years I have accumulated an over abundance of pig collectibles in my classroom. I have gotten them as gifts from students, colleagues, and parents. I have pigs everywhere so I thought I would take a few pictures and show you some of my pigs.

We have been reading a story about a fly named Herman in our reading class. We finished up our textbook A and were left in suspense at the end of the book (we would get textbook B the next day) because something sinister was moving toward Herman, so we did a prediction chart and each student wrote a prediction as to what was coming toward Herman. They wrote their prediction on a sticky note and then put it on the chart. Before we read the next chapter about Herman in our new textbook, we went over the predictions. Some predicted a giant fly swatter, others predicted a human, and one student predicted a cow(don't know where he got that idea from). It was fun to see who predicted correctly.  Sorry, don't know how to turn around!!
It is not my best chart, but I did it in a hurry!!

Well, gotta eat!!  Oh!! I forgot ! Next week is out winter break!! WooHoo!! We all need a break!

Finally-----Catching Up!

Well, this is Tuesday and I am finally catching up with everything from where I was absent on Thursday and Friday of last week.  We have been working on dictionary skills in Language since last week, and it is really hard for some students. But I must say that my class loves to look for words in the dictionary!! They love to do a word search and making new words from letters that I give them. They are really very good at it! Well, gotta get off here and cut some valentines to use for decorating our valentine holders( I am sure there is probably a better word for this, but can't think of one right now). Working on some Spring games for centers!! Keep on the look out! Also working on some Literacy Lesson Plans with lots of activities! All of these will be for sale on TpT.
I will give you a sneak preview when they are finished.

Catch you later  :)
